I%26#39;m a single, female traveler just starting to plan a trip to Southeast Asia for all of June and July. I plan on traveling overland through Thailand, Laos and Cambodia for June. I%26#39;m not sure where to head from there - Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, etc? I%26#39;m looking for a good value and great cultural experiences. Any suggestions? Is it difficult to get from Thailand to Myanmar or safe for a young(ish) female like myself? Thanks!

When it comes to value for your money and also your personal safety, Myanmar is both very cheap and very safe. As for cultural experience... Bagan by some is rated equal to Angkor Wat. It%26#39;s a very special country.
Not easy to travel in.. a bit like Laos.. only slower. You need to arrange visum and money beforehand (US dollears.. cash only... and you need to fly in and out.. Airasia has a cheap return flight Bangkok to Yangon. June/July is pretty hot... Bagan and Mandalay will be hot but dry... Inle Lake should be nice.
