Inle lake - Taunggyi

We are planning to stay at Inle Lake, Inle Princess Resort Hotel, for one night and then on to Taunggyi, Aye Tharyar Golf Resort, for another night. Looking at the map would we be better (and is it practical) for us to stay two nights at Inle Lake and make a day trip to Taunggyi? This would save the bother of changing hotels. We are flying back to Yangon the next day.

Inle lake - Taunggyi

I have stayed at both places. We spent one night at Inle Lake and 2 at the Aye Thar Yar Golf Resort . Both places are very good but the Golf Resort was a luxury! The logistics dicates that even with having your own transport, you will be rushing around, spending most of your time travelling from one place to another. But, if you are willing to get up early at Inle to set off on a trip to Taungyi no later than 9:00am, it could work. Also, a lot will depend on what you want to do in and around Taungyi.

Inle lake - Taunggyi

Inle Princess Resort is far better then Aye Tharyar Golf Resort.

After you visiting the Taunggyi, if you want to go back to Inle Princess Resort , you have to take about 30 minutes from the junction of Taunggyi Road and Nyaung Shwe Road . Aye Tharyar Golf is just infront of that junction. Then, you have to go with boat for another (20~30) minutes to reach the Inle Princess.

Again if you want to fly back to Yangon from Inle Princess, you have to travel again to that junction. If you overnight at Aye Tharyar Golf, you will save about an hour at that morning. ( If your flight time is morning, you do%26#39;nt need to rush.)
