Studying Burmese in Burma

Hello

I learn this tongue for a year and plan to go for the first time to Myanmar to hear it for real, and really expect to improve my language skills.

I%26#39;d like to take some private lessons for 3-4 weeks. anybody have tried this? any ideas about the prices? recommendations of teachers?

I%26#39;ve heard the majority of teachers are in Yangon/Mandalay. But won%26#39;t it be nicer to go to some small place to spend almost a month there, rather then staying in a big city?

Thanks a lot

If you want to learn systematically, you may need teacher. If you just want to improve your language skills, you can stay in small hotel or inn and learn from the staff.

Usually, they are very eager to help you especially, you stay in small hotel or inn like Mother Land Inn 2 in Yangon or if you prefer to stay in Inle or Bagan , there are alot of small hotel and inn where you can learn freely. You can refer the ';Loney Planet'; for recommended hotel and inn .
