Visa for Myanmar

We are planning a trip to Myanmar and will flying in from Bangkok.

I umderstand that visas may be obtained from the embassy in DC.

Howeve we have no confirmation on plane tickets yet. Does the embassy require confirmed tickets in hand before requesting a visa or will they issue one without the RT airline tickets from Yagon-Bangkok.

We were planning to buy them in Bankok since we have 3 days in Bangkok.

Not sure if we can purchase tickets from Bangkok to Yangon while in the States.

Visa for Myanmar

As far as I am aware, you don%26#39;t need flight confirmations for a visa. You need to declare how long you plan to stay in Myanmar on the visa application form. If you have an itinerary to show your travel plans that may be sufficient enough. I would suggest you call the Embassy in DC since you will need to ask for a visa form anyway.

If you are going to be in Bangkok for 3 full days, you should just go to your travel agent the first day and have him/her get your visa for you. It will MAYBE cost you an extra 5 or 10 bucks, and is much less of a hassle than getting one here in the US.

BUT, to answer your question: No, you do not need confirmed tickets, but they will ask for what they call and itinerary. Give them a piece of paper with arrival and departure dates and flights. It doesn%26#39;t make any difference whether or not the dates and flights are accurate. But you should have them with you.
