Myanmar, Laos or Cambodia

Hello!

My fiance and I are planning our honeymoon for Nov 07. We will most likely spend the first week at Lyana Resort (4 star) at Ko Lanta, Thailand soaking up the sun and then wanted to experience some culture and adventure in another SE country for the following 2 weeks. We are mid-30s and I have travelled to Thailand 3 times and Vietnam for 4 weeks solo in 2000. We like jungles, beaches, temples %26amp; great food and would stay in mid-range hotels. We are also tossing up Sabah but Indochina appeals more. Does anyone have any preferences or hints?!! Which country has the easiest travelling? Thankyou in advance.

Myanmar, Laos or Cambodia

Don%26#39;t like to make sweeping statements but I%26#39;ve always found S. E. Asia very easy to travel in.. no matter where.

If you like temples you will love Bagan.... For beaches... Can%26#39;t beat Thailand. As far as rainforests is concerned.. sadly.. most of them have gone.. even in Myanmar.

Food is not supposed to be great there.. but we only had a few dud meals.... rest we thought on par with Thailand.

Myanmar would have to be the cheapest country of the ones you mention.. by far.

Myanmar, Laos or Cambodia

Luang Prabang in Laos is absolutely charming and well worth a visit. Plenty of temples, boat trip on the Mekong River, hill tribe trekking. A week would be plenty of time.

Myanmar a must - Yangon, Bagan, Inle Lake, Kiang Tong (hill tribe trekking). 2 weeks plenty of time.

I can provide more info if required.

Can%26#39;t go wrong with any of those countries; they are all fascinating. For transport, Thailand is the easiest. But there are lots of cheap flights to most major tourist ares in Myanmar. Roads are getting better in Cambodia for travel between major cities, but further afield is more of an adventure.

Do go to Burma , it is the most fascinating country with the nicest people you can meet . It is third world outside of the hotels but a travellers delight.

You can find many tours and details on the web - internal flights by Air Bagan ,Air Mandalay and Yangon Air all in modern ATR%26#39;s and certainly all of the Hotels we have stayed in at Inle Lake,Bagan ,Mandalay Sandoway and Yangoon have been fine. If you can -try a few days cruising the Irrawaddy on the Pandaw.

Weather fine from mid-Nov till late March. and you will be wearing a longi in no time. Lonely Planet is best guide.

Have spent a couple of days (all you need) at Siem Reap but found the Burmese so much more welcoming

Burma is like Thailand 30 years ago. Very authentic and wonderful. Religion is a key part of the culture that is lacking in Laos and Vietnam. You should go there before it changes. We have been all over SE Asia and plan to back to Burma for a 3rd time.

Just come back from Burma onthe25th
