Myanmar in August

Hi everybody!

I%26#39;d like to visit Myanmar in August (that%26#39;s the only month I can take off! In Italy August is the vacation month...). I%26#39;m planning a 2 weeks travel through Birmania BUT I have some doubts... Is it dangeerous in that period because of monsoons? What are monsoons precisely?

I don%26#39;t mind finding rain... I mean, I%26#39;m not planning a relaxing holiday and I don%26#39;t like seaside. But I heard somebodu saying that if you are on a boat or on a plane monsoons arrive suddenly and create problems.. Did somebody visit Bhurma in August? How was it?

Thanks for your help!

Ciao

Hey Polly-

Don%26#39;t worry so much about the monsoon. Depending on where you go, you shouldn%26#39;t have a problem. Clearly you will see plenty of rain and some thunderstorms. But nothing too severe. Also, it is a good idea to stay in locations with paved roads. Many roads in Myanmar get washed out or flooded and impassible, so figure out where it is you%26#39;re planning to visit and come back to this forum.

Cheers!

Dear Polly 81,

August is monsoons season in Myanmar but in Mandalay , Bagan and upper myanmar are not much raining . If the weather is bed, the plan did not take off . They wait till weather is better. No need to worry. In July and August is Spanish and Italy Hollidays and we do have alot of Spanish and Italian in this time.

So , do it as you said, if you don%26#39;t mind finding rain. You will love it .

Ciao.
