Ngapali beach

Hi there! I%26#39;ll be travelling to Myanmar in a few weeks, and am still undecided about Ngapali beach. Have any backpackers / budget travellers been there recently? Are there any guesthouses or hostels? From reading the forums, it seems that big resorts are the only option. What%26#39;s the cheapest room option? Thanks for a response!

Ngapali beach

Of course there%26#39;s a backpacker.. place there in Ngapali!

you buy just simple Yangon Airways Ticket

Yangon - to Sandway.. two way 130 USD and at airport on arrival, you ask to operation agent there at YA counter..

there%26#39;s they sure would love to direct you to local hotel.. not very far from APT.. approx.. 5 Min by car.

Ngapali beach

Hi there, thanks for the reply. So, I have two more questions.... in US$, what do you think is the cheapest hostel at Ngapali beach? Less than $10? $5? Also, for overland travel, is Yangon the best choice to depart from? About how many hours for a bus from Yangon to Ngapali beach? Thanks!

i flew to ngapali beach about 50 mins

whilst there i enquired about road travel and was told that a bus runs every day the problem being that it takes about 16 hours!!

i dont know about any cheap digs but iam sure that if you asked the locals they would be only too happy to help you out

they are very nice people

if you go the ngapali beach hotel is very central and at the entrance to the hotel is arestaurant called zaw talk to the owner or talk to the restaurant manager at the hotel his name is zaw zaw anng he speaks very good english

say you know brian and julie from england via this web site

We stayed 10 days its that beautiful go end enjoy

Suggesting staying with the locals is actually quite misleading and very poor advice.

They may well help people out, because that%26#39;s the kind of thing they would do!

However, it is not allowed for a foreigner, to stay anywhere other than a government approved hotel or guesthouse and any local breaking this law can and very likely will, end up in a lot of trouble.

Please do not ask or expect any of the local people, already living in very difficult circumstance, to put their neck on the line in order that we much better of visitors may save a couple of bucks!

Ngapali is not the cheapest place to get to or to stay.. but you should be able to find room from around USD 10.00.. Here are some other beaches in Myanmar to seach and considder:

Ngapali Beach is located in Thandwe about one hour flight from Yangon.

Ngwe Saung is a newly opened beach about 48 km from Pathein.

Chaung Tha Beach is located 40 km to the west of Pathein

Kanthayar Beach Resort, Rakkhine State’s third pleasant beach resort Kanthayar is situated in Gwa township

Kyaikkhahmi-Setse Beach is a small town situated on the Tanintharyi Coast

Let-khok-kone Beach Located 30 km from Yangon

Maung-ma-gan Beach located on the Taninthayi coast in the south

I am sorry that i suggested trying to get some accommadation with the local people

Having only been to myanmar the once i was unaware that i would be putting any person in trouble with the authorities because of my advice!!

mosegrissen has more knowledge than me

this is apparent from his postings

But i would like to say that the ';tone of is reply'; sounded high and mighty

at the end of the day i was only trying to be helpfull

truey27... that most certainly was not my intention.... if you feel hurt by what I wrote.. then please accept my most humble apology.

Please understand that I, as many other people writing these comment based on experience paid for dearly over time, by making many mistakes ourselves....

Most certainly no ';high and mighty” here...

merely limited time to endeavour to pass some knowledge... I%26#39;m not a preacher:-)
