half january i%26#39;ll be near Kyaikhtiyo and would like to visit the gold pagoda but j know that ,at present ther%26#39;s work in progress and the pagoga is hidden? is it true? i would like some news about this fact.

In Jan, 14 ,15 you can see entire of the pagoda Now they make gild the whole pagoda that%26#39;s why cover with bamboo mat,Have a nice trip in our country and welcome to unique land.

I%26#39;m planning a visit there next week to see Golden Rock. Is it better to view the rock in the morning or last afternoon? I have to decide whether to spend the night nearby (Kinpun) or go to Bago.

I%26#39;ve been back from Kyaithiyo Pagoda last Christmas. The re-decoration was finished. Nothing hide the pagoda from your eyes sight. The wether was very cool. It%26#39;s very crowded all day, even the night.

I just noticed your question.
Observing Khaikthiyo in different time will give you variety experience. It%26#39;s good to visit anytime. For the most maximize of great experience. I suggest to stay near the Pagoda at Khaitho Hotel which 5 miniutes walks or Mountain Top which about 10 minutes walks. Staying near the pagoda will allow you to go the pagoda at night. It%26#39;s open 24 hours and see the food offering to Pagoda in early morning.
It%26#39;s better to arrive Khaithiyo in the early afternoon. From the base camp you need to transfer to a 6 wheel truck and further walk about 45 minutes.
On the returning to Yangon, you can travel in Pago about 5-6 sites.
