I%26#39;m planning to go to Myanmar with a friend.

Is it safe for two females to travel there alone? and is getting around relatively easy without having to go with a tour?

My husband and I went on our own - without any guides and it was fine. We got around on our own and didn%26#39;t have any problems.

Hi dongdong,

Yes, we hired a driver on a daily basis. In Yangon, we mainly took taxis and walked. We only hired a driver on one day to go to the cultural village and to see a temple which was located in the middle of the lake (or some body of water, can%26#39;t remember, but we had to take a boat to get to the temple). So that was kinda like a day trip.

In Bagan, we only hired a donkey cart for one day - just for the fun of it, and the other times, we hired bicycles and cycled around the place.

At the Inle Lake, we got a taxi to go to the hotel and then hired the boats to get around.
