I%26#39;ve been looking into the Myanmar Gems show in Yangon next to the Kaba Aya Paya. Is this event open only to merchants, or can anyone attend? Do you have to buy in lots or can you purchase single items? We were not originally planning a trip to Burma, but will be in Thailand for a month. I was considering applying for a Burma visa to attend this show if I am able. Any info anyone can pass along would be appreciated.

You can just come to Yangon as a tourist and you can get your visa on arrival at www.myanmarvisa.com. I read in the Lonelyplanet that they have a secure system and many travelers have been processed thru it.
Then you can pay a visit to Myanmar Gems show or any other places of your choice. Cheers.
