Has anyone used or had feedback on ';Golden Arrowhead'; Tour Company, No. 120, 7th Floor, Bogyoke Road, Yangon, Myanmar? We are planning a trip in December.

My STRONG advice is not to use a %26#39;tour company.%26#39; First, you will invariably end up spending more money. Second, more of that money will go into the pockets of people you would prefer not have it. Third, your experience will be more cookie cutter than if you go with an independent guide.

Just FYI, independent guides are fully licensed and only pay a very small percentage of their income to %26#39;those%26#39; people.

That having been said, if your heart is set on using a tour company, the vast majority of those in Yangon will look after you well.

I dont know the one you mentioned but Tour Mandalay'; is good. I have used them twice.

We to have used Tour Mandalay (twice) and also can recommend Asian Trails (excellant guides) and also Diethelm Travel who I notice have now an office at the Inya Lake Hotel. If you are first visitor to Burma I would recommend using a local agent first a then on future visit do your own thing.

We have just put together our own itinerary for later this year and have booked international flights and 3 hotels in Myanmar (Sandoway are arraging flights RGN/THW) all on line ,and one in Bangkok and saved a bundle by doing so.

Enjoy Burma - we try to return each year.

Columbus Travels arranged our accommodation and internal flights for our last two visits to Myanmar, including excellent guide with driver at each stop. This arrangement is much more flexible than joining a tour group. We told them the places we wanted to visit and our interests. The guides were happy for us to adjust the arrangements along the way.

We used Tour Mandalay (last December) and they were great value for money. All our station guides spoke English very well. We arranged everything through e-mail and everything went just perfect.

I can really recommend them.
