The Strand Hotel vs. The Governor's Residence

Was leaning toward the Strand as I was informed that the Residence was in need of rennovation.THEN I was told that there was a change of management 1 year ago and now it is excellent

Has anyone checked these two properties within the last year??

Strand is significantly better, but also more expensive.

Residence was purchased by Orient Express, so it definitely has gone up a few notches. If $$$ are not important, then Strand is the way to go.
