Need suggestion on travel plan

We intend to visit yangon in Oct for 6 nites .We are flying in and out from Yangon.

Need help to plan our trip .Is bagan too far away to squeeze in our 6 nites holiday.

Any suggestion on travel advise is most welcome ,we just need some lead on this.

you could visit Yangon as well as Bagan with 6 nights.. yes... does that mean 7 days? What are your interests.... temples, people or nature or what?

( 7 ) days in Burma...,

if you arrive morning flight...Air asia or TG 303 or ...)

Day(1)+arrive at YGN airport,then hotel,and a bit of rest ,then start sightseeing YGN area for the first day(Must be go to shwe da gon).

Day(2)+Flight to Heho(Inle lake)morning flight(08:15)Am,,then take texi to Lake,and visit by boat the whold day,then rest at hotel in Inle(Nyaung shwe),

Day(3)+stay still in inle lake and if you want go again father places and light trek east of the town,there you can see big lime cave and very few pagoda.

Day(4)+ flight to Bagan,evening flight(13:25)Pm.the half day sight seeing,and rest at hotel in Bagan,

Day(5)+Bagan sight seeing,the whole day,and rest at hotel in Bagan.

Day(6)+flight to Yangon,evening flight from Bagan.rest at hotel in YGN.

Day(7)+happy trip to home or some where.

Day(1)++arrive YGN and sight seeing ,in the first day.

Day(2)++early morning(07:00)Am,to Bago,just drop by and no need to pay entrance fee but see out side of the pagodas, and I do not mension about the palace(Kanbawza thar de),that is new one,rebuilt .The big pagoda of Bago(Shwe maw daw) just see from the car on the way to Kyaik Hti yoe),But you must see at monastary(Kya khat wai at 10:45 for their lunch time,amazing).

then proceed to Golden rock(Kyaik Hti yoe pagoda).and arrive at round about 13:30 PM and take bus to hill.entrance fee is 3$ for each and camara fee is 2000 kyats,stay hotel in there.night atmosphere is really great.

Day(3)++back to YGN,and stay YGN.

Day(4)++ flight to Bagan,(6:15)Am and arrive at Bagan sight seeing.

Day(5)++Bagan to Mt Popa half day trip,and evening sightseeing in Bagan,rest at hotel in Bagan.

Day(6)++back to YGN evening flight,then rest at hotel in YGN.

Day(7)++to BKK and home .

so many we can make .but What do you want to see,and what is your interested in Burma.

We really like to look at most of the things mentioned.

Yangon - Bagan -Yangon and other travelling flights cost is again most welcome in assisting our travel plans.

Internal flights cost from around USD 35.00 (short flights between Bagan, Mandalay and Heho) ..... Yangon to Bagan, Heho and Mandalay are in the USD 70.00 to USD 80.00 range.

I agree that you ought to do more than just sight seeing around the Yangon area.. some people enjoy the delta area and the Golden rock and Bago area is also a popular outing.

I truly like the Inle Lake area... something truly unusual and interesting.... But...... if I was going to Myanmar with such short time available... I would choose between Bagan (temples and more tempels) I really do think it is in the league with Angkor Wat.. if not more impressive... and much fewer tourists there.... but the Mandalay area too.... Not so much for Mandalay itself.. but for the ancient cities in the close surrounding area.... If I should choose, I think I would go for Mandalay if I could only choose one area (other than Yangon).

Not sure if you know this.. but you can fly into Mandalay direct from Chiang Mai (Mandalay Air _ Thursday PM flight (USD 119.00).

Roads in Myanmar are not so good.. so busses between the big cities are slow... as are the trains... If you want info on trains go to www.seat61.com other option is to book a guide with car for transport .. that way you get to see more places and are more independent.... I haven%26#39;t done this myself.. we used a combo of busses and planes.... safe journey!

Thks for the help ...looks like we need to increase the number of days and made this holidays a more relaxing pace.

We are now considering to go for 8 nites and 9 days.

We are really grateful for all this input and now we have to work on the nitty gritty part of the travel details.
