Advice needed to on hotel in Yangon

So many things for tay,

Yes, central hotel is really close to the tour places and you can get easily money changers :) ,That is close to the Bogyoke market( once calledd Scott market and next to the Trader hotel, and Down town area and Sule pagoda, If you get room rate from via net, now room rate is for 18 $ to 35 $ depend on the room type.

About day trip to Bagan, that is do not good for you cause Bagan is one of the attracion place and you should stay 1 night over there.

Welcome to BURMA,

if anything want to know,May I help to you to know about things and news what you want.

Hi,

I can also recommend the Trader%26#39;s Hotel. It is right in the center of the city. You can book on-line and I understand a good discount is given if you do that. A friend of mine from US did just that and he was pleased with the service and the discount.

Another I can also recommend a bit further up, but still well within easy walking distance of shops etc and still within the city center area and on the same continuous road is the Grand Plaza Park Royal (commonly known as the Park Royal )

The Traders Hotel is on the Sule Pagoda Road which is actually continuous with the Alanpya Pagoda Road on which the Park Royal is. The hotels are just over half mile to each other.

Bon voyage!

Definitely Traders and book online. They encourage this. Otherwise their rack rate is $130US. You book for a fraction of that online.

I went to myanmar in febuary and thought that the best thing to do was checck out prices on the net,and then walk in the hotel when we got there BIG MISTAKE!!!

The hotel in question was the Traders.

Clutching my print out i endeavoured to get the room rate that was approx $65 ,only to find that it would cost me $140!!!!

That particular hotel is very nice and central and if you get chance book it via the net

I was very dubious having not booked over the net ,especially as i had not been to Myanmar before and we just turn up at any hotel we fancy

Having not wanting to pay that sort of money we went to a hotel around the corner called the Central Hotel That cost around $40 and was ok but no swimming pool

After learning by my mistakes I would suggest findind a good Tour Guide shop as they seem able to get far better rates than you or me ever could

Iam sure you will have a great time

I notice that you from uk if you have any questions please e-mail portlandhealthca@btconnect.com and i will give you my telephone number

regards bri

Its correct that the upper price range hotels are best booked on-line.. a long time before your trip if you want the discounted rate.. For the high season.... you probably need to book by end of August or thereabouts. Certainly by November all the ';deals'; will not be available.... For the cheaper hotels and outside the high season.... you may do as good a deal when you just turn up... but I don%26#39;t think you will ever do better than if you book.. no matter how hard you bargain. This is pretty much the same situation anywhere in S. E. Asia.

I stayed once at the Traders it%26#39;s well located but there is too many groups...I would recommend The Governor%26#39;s Residence....and at European standards and London prices. it%26#39;s affordable.

I am planning to go in October again...
