Myanmar has embassies in New York and DC... I%26#39;ve read that the New York one doesn鈥檛 do ';mail order';. 3 forms (downloadable from net).. plus 3 photos required.

If you plan to be in New York, you can get your visa at the Myanmar Mission to the UN. When the General Assembly is in session, you will have to wait 2 weeks. When it is not, you only have a 1 week wait.

To do by mail, best go through the embassy in DC. Documentation is as Mosegrisen indicated. Also 20 bucks.

No, it%26#39;s not really hard. It%26#39;s just slow and takes time. Many of my friends in US have been able to get it by post at the Embassy in WDC.

I sent mine to the DC embassy via FedEx with a prepaid return FedEx envelope. I was terrified to send my passport in the mail, but it went down with no problems at all. Save the return FedEx info so you can track it. Seeing it return helps ease the mind. The visa is a cool, full page sticker.

we used Magado to book our flights and visas in March this year. You pay a small deposit in advance, email a completed form to them with digital mugshots. They meet you at the airport - before passport control somehow! Then take you through to the luggage belt to wait whilst they go back through and do all your visa stuff - surreal but very impressive - we expected to be arrested any minute for not getting anything checked. After about 5 minutes the smiling chap returned with out passports and visas in exchange for the rest of the cash we owed him. He then kindly found the hotel driver for us.

The only advice is to carefully check the dates and spelling on the emailed copies you are sent before confirming you are happy. We took a copy of the emailed version with us too, luckily because the airline wanted to see it on departure form UK. The lady we dealt with at Magado was Miss Aye.
