Bagan and Yangon.how long to stay?

Hi, Im going to visit Bagan early June 2007, flying bkk to Yangon, then I guess i will fly to Bagan.

How long should i stay in Bagan for? I want to have a good look at the temple sites and certainly do not want to rush. Will 2 full days be enough?

And how about Yangon...is 2 days enough or would it be better to stay 3 days?

Thanks to anyone that can help me out

Andrew

Yangon... 1 full day is enough really.. having said this.. Lots of people find things to see and do for a week or more.

Bagan... 2 full days will just allow you to scratch the surface... One day on a bike and one with horse cart... enough?.. Well, not really. We had planned for 3 full days but gave it 4... and could happily have stayed longer.

Yes ,Bagan is so great site for Burma,If you interested in Temples and pagodas, that is just cultural building but they have strong story and that tell about real history of Bagan period.so I will say if you want to know about history of Bagan templs ,you should stay full 3 days cause you can go around Bagan sightseeing.

the first day you arrive early at Airport of Nyaung U(3 miles away from Bagan )and just 1 and half hour at hotel arrange and start sightseeing that will take one day full, and sunset on the Shwe san daw pagoda, that you will get good sense of view in bagan,

next day you start to go around Myin ga bar village and art crafts working, and you should try to get sun set on the river of Irrawady with boat, that you pay 6000 kyats they will treat you with plan tea(Green tea and brown suger),

and the last day of Bagan in the morning go to Mt popa I do not prefre to climb Mt popa but you should go national park of Mt popa that you will get nature and calm, and evening sun set is Pyat that gyi pagoda that is great one for sun set,

And one most importance thing is you try to get good knowledge guide who will say great history and legendary of our Great Bagan time.

Welcome to BURMA and get enjoy in Bagan

2 days enough.. though you have more intrest to SALAY, and POPPA, around bagan, that%26#39;s take one more day to you.

for yangon 1st call on arrival and 2 call check-in at hotel.. depends..

Victor

We will be in Bangkok next March 08, and would like to fly to Bagan for 3 nights to tour the temples %26amp; do the hot air balloon.

Can anyone suggest a travel agent to book through that is moderately priced?

I am mildly hanicapped, is there a reasonably priced hotel to stay in Bagan where I do not have to climb any stairs to access the room (prefer two twin beds), to access the restaurant?

A pool is important too.

Thinking about staying at the The Hotel @ Tharabar Gate... any suggestions or this or other hotels?

I%26#39;ve read this is close to temples, want to make sure it doesn%26#39;t require climbing stairs.

How about THE SERENITY hotel?

Do we need to hire a car/driver to visit the temples?

Or do we hire a horse cart?

I cannot bike.

Thanks!

Dear Andrew,

Sorry delay reply. I was in Chig Mai and Chiang Rai, Thailand!

Depend, your budget for splarge hotels. I recomment

';Thiri Marlar Hotel, which nice clean closed to River view Res, Sun Set garden restaurants.. and many more. for swimming.. you have long Irrawaddy river.., It%26#39;s a joke!

I%26#39;m in a hurry movig house.. and contact you again hope so.

Regards,

Aung

On 3 trips to Myanmar I have always spent my first and last nights in Yangon largely to visit the Shwedagon Pagoda in the evening when the lighting is at its best. This should not be missed. If you have time 2 full days will probably be sufficient. The Central Market used to be a Rangoon highlight selling everything from everywhere but today%26#39;s rents have driven out most of the shopkeepers. It%26#39;s a place you can skip unless T-shirts interest you. As for Bagan I would stay at least 2 days. Sorry you can%26#39;t go on to Inle Lake.
