Assuming that you will not earn a high expat salary I recommend you check with your employer. Maybe he can help you. You should also check, if renting a flat or house as a foreigner is allowed. Sounds strange, but in Burma everything is possible. There might be restrictions for certain areas, types of flats etc. I have lived in Yangon a while ago and can say that living cost are definitely higher for foreigners than for locals. Check, if your employer can at least arrange housing for you. Also be prepared to pay extra for vegetables etc. on the market.
