Honeymoon ideas Yangon

We will spend the first three nights of married life in Yangon - any tips of nice places to go in the evenings after sight seeing? Also any particular tips on hotels for honeymoon? An agent here in the UK will charge us only 拢50 each more than the cost of booking the flight directly to include 3 nights at the Savoy...tempting - or should we look for quotes for the Traders and the Governors Residence (Strand is a bit too costly) thanks all!

Honeymoon ideas Yangon

If you do go with the Savoy.. get the suites... the standar rooms are pretty ordianry and get a fair amount of trafic noice.... The Stand is not as nice as you may think.. (sour grapes.. not really:-)).... Traders.. get the Club floors.... Also look at Kandawgy Palace.. Some of their rooms have a magnificent view of the Shwe Dagon pagoda.

Look at booking sites such as hoteltravel, asiarooms or myanmartourex.

Governor%26#39;s Residence is a pretty special place. There is a review of some of the Rangoon hotels here:

For me,I do not know exactly about hotel,

But I would like to mension fgor honey moon couple, that I thought Dusit inya lake is nice, and night time you can sit near lake of Inya, and get feekl sense of nature and good walking around hotel.some say that is 4 star hotel.

and one thing is the half is Govt own and other is dusit run.some peoples ,they do not want to stay govt hotel, but some time you should stay for your self.

room rate is suite 65 $ per night,

superior is 55 $

and evening walk along the bank of Inya, there you can see many couple (young and old couples walk, sit and ...) get it.

Happy honey trip in Burma

Savoy is a good bet - within walking distance of SP and also restaurants.

If you go for a suite book the one overlooking the pool not the road.

We love Dusit Inya Lake because of its%26#39; position and it has great grounds and the biggest free form pool in Yangon.

Forget Governors Residence or the Strand - not worth the money.Great to visit for a look around but not to stay.

Traders has very good reports but it is a down town hotel with no grounds.

Look up the reviews on all five hotels before making up your mind and have a great honeymoon.

(Are you still planning a week at Ngapali beach afterwards?)

Thank you all! i don%26#39;t know how i would plan a wedding and a honeymoon in 5 months otehrwise!!! We have found flights and 3 nights at the Savoy for 拢805 each with Qatar airlines - ok price i think for late december. The governors residence is fully booked so will take your comments on board and probably book the savoy after our own research too....then travelling around with burmese family to mandalay - bagan- inle lake and then onto 10 days at Nhgapali bay on our own (by burmese grandma was laughing when i pronounced Ngapali as it was spelt!) yet to choose a hotel at ngapali....may or may not have one further night back in Yangon before heading back to London.....what do you think?

Sounds great - I would certainly recommend a last night in Yangon otherwise you will be well and truly shattered .

Why not try Dusit Inya Lake - it is the nearest decent hotel to the airport!

Forget tourist entertainment in Yangon - the best place to be in the evening is the ShweDagon, very romantic especially by moonlight, few tourists around, and a magical light show. This is always my choice for first and last nights in Yangon and have never been disappointed.

My suggestion is to choose Sedona Hotel or Knadawgyi palace hotel for your honey moon trip....There you can fine fantastic living with natural surroundings...

Have a nice honey moon....
